From The East (September 2010)

Brethren,

Grand Lodge Annual Communications will be held September 24 - 26. Coastside will have 4 Officers representing our votes at Grand Lodge and our other brothers and Officers attending our Child ID Booth at the Fog Fest the same weekend. If you have not volunteered a time to help at the Fog Fest please contact myself or Nicole immediately to do so. The more Masons representing our Lodge the better.

At our September Stated Meeting we will discuss the proposed legislation from Grand Lodge. Please attend so that you can speak your voice for the delegates representing Coastside to consider when voting.

At our November Stated Meeting we will be holding our annual election of Officers.

One final important note - The Eastern Star is in need of new members ASAP! Please help the Star in any way possible to keep them in Pacifica. The Star has always been there and supported Coastside Lodge in many ways. Help return the favor by supporting our Eastern Star in their time of need.

Worshipful Brother Schirmer

From The West (September 2010)

We have met the enemy and he is us.

POGO (WALT KELLY)

It’s hard to accept that you can be your own worst enemy. In fact, this realization is so painful that we go to great lengths to prove otherwise. It’s always fate, circumstances, or lousy luck that messes up our best-laid plans.

When all you encounter is disappointment after disappointment as you pursue your dreams, it’s natural to start feeling sorry for yourself. But if you constantly think the chips are stacked against you or that the cards are marked, pray today for the courage to check out the dealer at your game of chance. Does he seem a bit familiar? He should, because he’s your authentic self’s evil twin: the ego.

Fraternally, Ronald B. Ragland, Senior Warden
